In this book of 60 double-crostic puzzles, every puzzle has a different theme, suggested by something in the quotation. The theme is then hidden in all the clues and/or their entries. Discovering the theme helps solve the puzzle.
The 60 quotations in this book are taken from the 60 Sherlock Holmes stories. Since the stories were all written by the same person, the acrostic line in the puzzles, which usually spells out the author and source of the quotation, here contains a supplementary “mini-quotation” from the same story as the quotation in the grid.
